Professional Service Agreement (EMCC & NMC Standards)
This section explains the professional standards, ethics, and boundaries that govern our relationship, in line with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Professional registration and standards (NMC)

NMC adherence: Rachel Ewan, who delivers the coaching, is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). She adheres to the NMC Code of Conduct and Standards for practice in all her professional activities.

Professional accountability: This means her conduct is subject to NMC professional accountability requirements, which reinforce our commitment to ethical, safe, and effective practice.

Confidentiality and its limits

We treat everything discussed in coaching sessions and training events as strictly confidential.

Confidentiality rule
What it means
Standard
We will not reveal any personal identifying information about you (the Client or Delegate) to any third party without your express permission.
Professional Supervision
To ensure we maintain the highest standard of coaching (as per EMCC ethics), we are required to discuss our practice with a qualified Supervisor. During supervision, all client data is fully anonymised – we do not use your name, address, or any other personally identifying details.
Limits (Breaking Confidentiality)
We are legally obliged to break confidentiality and contact relevant authorities (such as the police, social services, or emergency medical services) if we believe:
  1. You, the Client, are at immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others.
  2. We are required to do so by a Court Order or other specific legal obligation.
Disclaimer, scope, and client responsibility
  • Coaching scope: Our coaching and training services are intended for development, insight, and wellbeing support. We are not medical professionals, therapists, or financial advisors.
  • Coaching vs. clinical practice (NMC Boundary): While Rachel Ewan is a registered nurse, the coaching service provided is explicitly NOT nursing practice, healthcare, or clinical advice. We do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or specific nursing advice during coaching sessions. Our role is solely focused on development, goal setting, and wellbeing support. If you require medical or clinical support, you must seek guidance from a qualified healthcare provider.
  • Reliance on advice: Any advice, suggestion, or opinion offered on our website or during sessions is given in good faith. You must use your own judgment to decide if the advice is appropriate for your situation. If you are ever unsure whether something is a fact, an opinion, or how it applies to you, please always ask for clarification.
