Scope of Practice and Crisis Support Policy
Rachel Ewan services provides high-quality coaching focused on personal growth, goal attainment, and emotional wellbeing within a remote working, non-clinical setting.
This policy statement clearly defines the scope of our services and our professional and ethical commitment to client safety.
Scope of Service and Ethical Boundaries
Coaching is not a substitute for psychiatric care or emergency services.
Rachel Ewan services are to support you in achieving your goals and managing general stress or emotional challenges – we are not equipped to manage mental health crises or situations involving immediate risk. We do not offer support to any individual who is currently experiencing:
- Suicidal ideation or intent: Any active or passive thoughts of ending one’s own life, or making plans to do so.
- Harm to self or others: Any intent or plan to cause serious physical harm to oneself or to another person.
- Unsafe/abusive living situation (safeguarding): Currently living in a situation where they are at immediate risk of abuse, neglect, or harm from others, or where there are immediate safeguarding concerns for a child or vulnerable adult.
If you disclose any of the above situations during a coaching session, our duty of care requires us to pause the coaching process and immediately direct you to the appropriate emergency/crisis services listed below.
